Ex-West Yorkshire super cop, Bob Taylor, has been caught for drink driving.
Wakefield Magistrates Court heard how the current Council worker was almost double the alcohol limit when stopped after an anonymous tip-off alerted his old colleagues.
Despite a good, long driving record of 46 years and a high profile police career that saw him lead investigations including the case of the Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe, Mr Taylor was disqualified from driving for 18 months.
Steve Williams of Motoring Lawyers Online was recently at Wakefield Magistrates Court representing a client charged with drink driving, and is not surprised by the outcome; “It’s a fair result. The Deputy Distruct Judge who heard the case was sympathetic because Mr Taylor was of good character, but had to disqualify him.”
